  • 1 1/2 cups grits
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup Pappadeaux sauce


1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

2. In a medium bowl, combine grits, chicken broth, olive oil, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, basil, oregano, parsley, red pepper flakes and shrimp. Mix well and spread mixture in an ungreased baking dish.

3. Bake for 20 minutes, or until grits are tender.

4. Meanwhile, in a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add Pappadeaux sauce and bring to a boil.

5. Add chopped fresh parsley, and cook for 1 minute more, or until parsley is wilted.

6. Serve shrimp and sauce over grits.
